Prostate Cancer UK researchers have discovered that when individual cancer cells die (all cells have limited life spans) they issue a chemical signal to neighbouring cells urging them to grow and divide. Interrupting this process could be a significant help in the battle against the disease. PCUK and Queen’s University Belfast have devised a way to make those adjoining cells ‘deaf’ to the signal. An early trial has shown encouraging results so a second, larger trial is already under way. This exciting project could have huge benefits for men battling with prostate cancer.  prostatecanceruk.org
