Photo Dynamic Therapy was a treatment developed and trialled at great cost over 15 years ago. It had much promise and generated great excitement in media around 2015 when trials results were published. However it did not go smoothly subsequently as NICE in the UK and the US FDA were reluctant to approve its use on the basis of the trials. Professor Emberton describes the journey and what happened next.
