PCaSO members and partners are warmly invited to join our next talk, 7pm on Thursday 14 November on the subject of Hormone Treatment, given by Dr. Steve Allen who is a well-known champion for prostate cancer support and a previous chair of ‘Tackle’, the umbrella federation for regional support groups like PCaSO.
Hormone therapy is one of the most common treatments for prostate cancer – indeed it is the ‘first line’ drug used in the management of aggressive, advanced prostate cancers.  But how many people actually understand how it works or indeed why it works?  How many types of ‘hormone therapy’ are there? Is there anything new on the horizon?  Will there ever be a day when such blunderbuss therapy will be obsolete? In his talk, Steve will explain things in a way that hopefully should be both informative and simple to understand.  And there will be plenty of time for questions as well.  Not to be missed!
Hormone treatment has been a very recent topic on PCaSO’s Members’ WhatsApp group, and it is clear that we can find ourselves on various types of medication, for varying periods and with different degrees of side-effects.
The talk will certainly be interesting, so do join us (from the comfort of your own home!) if you can.
How can I take part?
PCaSO members will have received an email invitation on on just after 29 October. If you didn’t receive that but would like to join the online event, please send an email to secretary@pcaso.org for the login details.
Kind regards
Lance Allen
