Researchers at Cardiff University have published a review that finds aspirin can help reduce the risk of tumours spreading within the body (metastases), in cancers such as prostate, breast and bowel. Data from some 250,000 patients has shown 20% reduced mortality rates. Randomised trials are continuing. The researchers are mindful that too much aspirin can have side effects such as gastro-intestinal bleeding. The Times 3 July 2021.
